Supported Charities
Society Cards donates 40 pence from each pack of cards sold and 60 pence from each Bargain box to help support those in need in the rural community. The fund is divided equally between the five charities shown below. If you wish to give an additional voluntary donation to a particular one of these charities please call us with your order and let the member of our team know- just give them the name of your chosen charity from the list below, and how much you would like to donate.
Marie Curie Cancer Care (reg. 207994 & SCO 38731) provides high quality free home nursing to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses; a service of particular value to those living in rural areas.
Farm Crisis Network (reg. 1095919) offers a national helpline and visiting service for the relief of hardship and distress in farming families.
The Addington Fund (reg. 1097092) assists those made homeless by changes in the rural economy to be re-housed within their local community.
Formerly known as ARC-Addington Fund.
Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (reg. 208858) provides care and assistance to those who have depended on the land and are now facing hardship in England, Wales and N. Ireland.
RSABI (Formerly Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution, SC009828) helps those who have depended upon land based occupations in Scotland and who now find themselves in need.
Farming Help comprises three charities, Farm Crisis Network, ARC-Addington Fund and RABI (we also embrace RSABI to give nationwide coverage). For advice on which farming charities may be of help to you call Farming Help on 0845 367 9990 (N.B. this is not the number for Society Cards).
